Clinical education
Since 1997 the AHMF has produced a range of educational resources for Australian clinicians, doctors, health and scientific professionals. Our range of resources has grown from a set of printed management guidelines to educational forums, multimedia presentations and our own original research.
Clinical guidelines |
Evidence-based guidelines on the diagnosis, management, clinical manifestations and pathogenesis of conditions caused by herpesviruses. All guidelines are reviewed regularly by the AHMF Board. |

Clinical photographs to acts as aids in the diagnosis of genital herpes, herpes zoster and other related conditions. |
Journal reviews |
The AHMF Research review is a periodic review of the most recent significant journal publications in relation to genital herpes and herpes viruses. The reviews are brief dot-point summaries which can be quickly and easily digested. |
AHMF research projects |
The AHMF has commenced a program of research via surveys on this website. We have examined risk behaviours for the acquisition of genital herpes and are currently undertaking research into the attitudes of Australian herpes patients to treatments. |

Travel scholarship |
The AHMF holds a Travel Grant Scholarship every year to allow medical graduates, biomedical scientists, nurses, allied health professionals, doing post graduate studies or research in the area of herpes viruses, an opportunity to attend a National or International Conference to present a paper on laboratory, clinical or public health research related to herpes viruses. |
