News: Travel Scholarship Winner to Present Research in FinlandThe Australian Herpes Management Forum (AHMF), Australia’s leading independent organisation providing evidence-based clinical information and resources for clinicians and the general public on herpes viruses, has presented Dr Monica Miranda Saksena with a $5,000 scholarship to attend and present and at the 2005 International Sexually Transmitted Infections Conference during a 5 day workshop at the University of Turku, Finland in July. Her topic will be on the Transportation of the Herpes (HSV1) Virus.
“It is such an honour for me to win this award and have my research recognised by the AHMF,” said Dr. Saksena. “But it is a greater honour as well to be travelling to present to the world’s leading minds in Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Research of the Herpes virus is vital and I am very pleased to have my research apart of the presentations to the congress this year.” “AHMF is proud to be supporting the great work that Monica has done,” said Adrian Mindel,. “It is essential to have new research in this field and to encourage young scientists to continue work into the herpes viruses. Great evolutions in understanding the virus have been made by opening up the floor to new researchers and Monica is a perfect example of this.”
