The AHMF Research Update is a series of reviews of recent journal publications relating to herpes viruses and related conditions. Each month, the AHMF will publish a summary of "what's known" and "what's new".
The journal reviews are prepared by Dr Shailendra Sawleshwarkar, a medical registrar working at the Sexually Transmitted infection Research Centre at Westmead Hospital, Sydney.
The first Research Update discusses the recently published paper by Cunningham et al examining the prevalence of herpes simplex infections in Australians.
