News: Overview of Varicella Zoster Virus

Ninety per cent of the population carry the varicella zoster virus, the cause of chickenpox, shingles and post-herpetic neuralgia.
The AHMF has now published guidelines for clinicians to provide an overview of the virus and the conditions it causes, with particular reference to chickenpox. The guidelines describe symptoms, diagnosis, management and prevention.
