HSV and HIV co-infection present numerous clinical dilemmas for the clinician. People with HSV infection are more likely to acquire and transmit HIV, and those with HIV have more outbreaks of HSV symptoms.
Given this background, The AHMF has reviewed published evidence to develop recommendations for the management of HSV in individuals infected with HIV.
