AHMF research project: Patient perspective survey

The AHMF has implemented a survey to explore the opinions and attitdues of Australians who have genital herpes. The survey examines the different treatments people have tried and their perceived success rate.

The survey, available at www.ahmf.com.au/patient-perspective-survey, commenced on 25 May 2009 and will remain open until further notice.

The AHMF anticipates that the anonymous nature of the internet will encourage patients to candidly volunteeer information that might otherwise be difficult to elicit, giving a patients' point of view of the treatments used by Australian clinicians.

The online survey should improve healthcare professionals’ understanding of patients’ perspectives on the most effective form of treatment for genital herpes, resulting in better compliance and outcomes for Australians with herpes.

If you are a doctor or other health worker with clients who have genital herpes, you may wish to promote this survey in your waiting room. The AHMF can send you a free poster and pamphlets: just fill in the form by clicking the link in the More Information section below.

Results will be published on this page as the survey progresses.
